SanDot's News 2011
April 2010
The new crew - SanDot's Oops A Daisy (if your sire is Hundebuden's Oops A Bertchen, your first born must be Oops A Daisy) SanDot's New Moon Rising (Omar) and SanDot's Late Arrival (Teddie -arrived 4 hours after her litter mates - mom decided to nap after the first two). Hard to believe they are a year old now. They are training for the ring and what a pack of loving sweet goofballs they are.

So 2010 comes to a close. It was a good year for us. We finished our first home bred baby. "Sleeper "who is so special inside and out -- beyond anything that could ever be proven inside of a ring. Daisy, Omar, and Teddie are now showing and all 3 are just lovely. It has been over 7 years since we brought our first papillon home. We have had so many special great moments and of course our share of sad. It was a year of reflection for me and that reminiscing ended up shaping into the upcoming book "Oh For Dog's Sake - Living With Multiple Dog Disorder". It is our story, and how we ended up sharing our life over the years with so many wonderful dogs. Our hope is others will enjoy reading of the chaos and joy this hairy crew has given us and how strong of a family we have become through them. I hope it will give others a new perspective to think outside of the box and realize why you can never define what a normal life is. I will post more details as I am able. Happy New Year to everyone from all of us at "SanDot's" .

In January of this year we added a new member and a new breed to our family. Snobe de Viamonte aka "Snooty" a Portuguese Podengo Pequeno has arrived. We cannot thank his breeder Miguel Angelo Conde Sabino enough for giving us the opportunity to show such a magnificent and rare breed in the US. Soon after he arrived we entered Snooty at 5 months of age in his first show to see how he would do. He exceeded our expectations and was awarded "Best In Show Rare Breed Puppy". Snooty is a wonderful dog and we look forward to showing him again in the near future!

We participated in our first National last month. What a lovely city Chattanooga is. Close to home otherwise, this is not an event we would normally attend. Daisy showed in the Bred By class and Kisame showed in the Best Of Breed competition. I am so proud of both girls. They are everything a papillon should be, small, elegant, refined with beautiful heads, coats and fringe. They graced the ring with ease and confidence. It is a shame of only 14 bitches, if I recall correctly, in the BOB competition, the judge (who I was told was a breeder judge) felt the need to make a cut for such a small entry. All 14 girls were excellent ambassadors for the breed, and deserved complete respect - But drama seems to be as much a part of the competition these days as the actual dogs themselves and it was craftily delivered. A few photos of our girls below showing in top condition:)

October 2011.
With three dogs at home, I had a firm number in my head of how many was too many. ***** If I had lived with choices from the past my future would still reside there. My present evolved from the determination to have an unscripted future - TKR -

Another whirlwind summer, and alot of ribbons came our way. Quite a few accomplishments over 2011 and with our reduced show schedule we are proud of each and everyone. This year has brought us breed and group placements for our papillons and a Best In Show for our Podengo Snooty. We are grateful to all the judges for the acknowledgements. We are thankful for cooler weather which is allowing our dogs more outside playtime, until winter arrives.
